West Coast Brew Fest - Commercial Craft Competition Results
Over 200 entries competing for recognition in 18 categories...
Sacramento, CA - Unlike most brewer's festivals, the West Coast Brew Fest holds an annual commercial craft competition two weeks prior to the very popular festival. Held Sunday, May 2, over 200 beers were entered for the competition to compete in 18 categories as defined by the Beer Judging Certification Program (BJCP) and coordinated by BCJP sanctioned judges.
The competition is a "Triple-Blind" tasting with only the cellar master aware of what brands are being served - the judges only know what kind of beer it is supposed to be and judge accordingly.
"Since the beginning of the West Coast Brew Fest we have included the Commercial Craft Competition as a key component of celebrating the West Coast origins of the Microbrew Revolution," says Matson Breakey, co-founder of the WCBF and president of Creative Cats Presents.
