Leading North American Energy Company Offers Financial Incentives for British Columbian Customers Using Desktop Authority's Power Management Functionality to Cut Energy Costs

ScriptLogic® Corporation,
www.scriptlogic.com, a leading provider of systems lifecycle management
solutions for Microsoft® Windows®-based networks, today announced that
BC Hydro, the largest electric utility company in British Columbia, has
approved ScriptLogic's Desktop Authority®
for use in its Power Smart Product Incentive Program. IT administrators
within British Columbia using Desktop Authority's computer power management functionality to cut energy
costs will now be eligible for financial incentives from BC Hydro as a
reward for their efforts to enable "green computing."
The BC Hydro Power Smart Product Incentive Program is designed to help
businesses become more energy efficient and save money. Desktop Authority,
ScriptLogic's comprehensive desktop management software, offers power management
functionality to help IT administrators save energy costs by establishing
power settings and by shutting down inactive machines. IT administrators
can easily create, modify or remove Windows power schemes, giving them
centralized control over both laptops and desktops. Additionally, Desktop
Authority's Inactivity Timer will monitor inactivity and lock, logoff,
shutdown or restart desktops as specified by the administrator.
"With ENERGY STAR® compliant PCs and power management software, IT
administrators have the tools to make a real positive impact on energy
consumption," said Nick Cavalancia, vice president of Windows Management at
ScriptLogic. "With eligibility for BC Hydro's prestigious Power Smart
Product Incentive Program, our customers will receive an additional
incentive as they do their part to lower energy costs."
By implementing power management software, an organization
can gain substantial annual savings. Using basic network and PC
information, IT administrators can calculate the energy savings of power
management by using ScriptLogic's ROI calculator.
ScriptLogic has authored a whitepaper, "Lowering Energy Costs with Desktop
Authority," detailing the best strategies for enabling power management.
Web users can download the whitepaper by visiting http://www.scriptlogic.com/whitepapers/LoweringEnergyCostswithDesktopAuthority.pdf.
To be eligible for incentives, BC Hydro business customers must use
approved products identified within BC Hydro's
e.Catalog. For more information about the program or assistance with
the rebate application process, customers should call the BC Hydro Power
Smart helpline, +1 866-522-4713, or visit online at
