As the industry-leader in disk-to-disk compression, Hifn has leveraged its
widely deployed capacity optimization capabilities and designed them to
seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Windows for Continuous Data Protection,
disk-to-disk and network attached storage applications -- an industry first.
The new cards feature a drop-in Windows software driver, which enables storage
and server OEMs, and System Integrators to quickly add value by bringing
Enterprise-class capacity optimization to the mainstream Windows Server
market.
"As most IT professionals will attest to, backing up data is only half the
solution. Rapid and reliable recovery of the data is just as important if not
more," said Bala Kasiviswanathan, director of Storage Solutions Marketing at
Microsoft. "With Hifn's Express DR for Data Protection Manager 2007 we're
providing our customers an efficient, reliable backup and recovery solution."
"As a Microsoft and Hifn Authorized Reseller, I am excited about the new
Express DR card for DPM just released by Hifn," said Bob Moylan, vice
president of sales and marketing at Atlantic Data Team, aFlorida-based,
value-added reseller. "The continued increase of storage requirements has been
a challenge for my customers, now I have a capacity optimization solution that
is already proven with larger enterprise customers to solve my client's
critical capacity needs and help them with one of their major pain points."
The new Express DR cards for DPM 2007 address the needs of IT
administrators who are struggling with escalating costs of data storage,
management and power in their data center. With Express DR for DPM 2007
solutions, administrators realize a 2x -- 3x savings in storage, power and
related management costs. The Express DR cards for DPM seamlessly integrate
the key functions of data reduction, data integrity and high-performance with
Windows Server advanced technologies to deliver efficient, rapid and reliable
storage.
"These new cards bring Hifn's Enterprise-class capacity optimization to
the mainstream Windows-based storage server environments," said Russ Dietz,
vice president and chief technology officer for Hifn. "The combination of the
Express DR cards for DPM 2007 with the DPM server provide IT administrators
with a significant increase in disk capacity, a much needed requirement for
continuous data protection, as well as the fastest, most reliable data
reduction solution available."
