Sabrin Questions McCain's Sacrifices For Oil

Three Questions Maverick Murray Has For Maverick McCain
Jersey City, NJ - New Jersey conservative Republican leader Dr. "Maverick Murray" Sabrin, the Garden State's strongest advocate of limited government and individual freedom and the front-runner for United States Senate, brought his "Legalize Freedom Tour" to the Liberty Science Center and held a press conference before Senator John McCain's press conference in Jersey City.

Maverick Murray challenged Maverick McCain on his contradictory positions by asking three simple questions:

1. "How is it okay for us to sacrifice the lives of brave men and women in Iraq for oil, yet you don't want to risk the potential life of a few caribou in Alaska by drilling in ANWR?"

2. "How is it fiscally conservative to borrow money from the Chinese to pay for someone else's Civil War and hand the money to supporters of terrorists with $4.00 per gallon gasoline, while our children and grandchildren will have to pay off the interest for the rest of their lives?"

3. "Why has Senator McCain allowed Senator Joe Lieberman to erode the civil liberties of Americans over the past six years while Governor Kean has suggested 'we've made very little progress' when it comes to homeland security?"

Senator John McCain was joined at his press conference by former Governor Tom Kean, Sr., who has been a harsh critic of President George W. Bush's war in Iraq and the Bush Administration's conduct in fighting terrorism. Governor Kean lectured on April 7, 2008, at Kean University and said, "We can't allow our civil liberties to erode in this kind of war because we don't know when we will get them back." Kean continued discussing the record of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board within the Bush Administration "has been a tremendous disappointment. The board raised no objection to detention and interrogation practices and warrantless wiretapping, and its report was edited by the White House." (NJJN reported this story on April 10, 2008)

Dr. Sabrin remarked on the courage of former Governor Tom Kean to speak out on these very important issues, "All it takes is one courageous voice from New Jersey to challenge injustice and Governor Kean has been a voice of reason when it comes to the War in Iraq and the protection of our civil liberties at home. This courage runs in the family as his father, former Congressman Robert W. Kean, was the first person to speak on the floor of the House of Representatives to challenge the injustice of the Jewish population in Nazi-dominated Europe at the time. I will honor his legacy and maintain that tradition of courage when I become the next United States Senator from New Jersey."

Dr. Sabrin will be making himself available to the press on Friday, May 9th from 9:45-10:30 a.m. in the Café Skylines on the Second Floor of the Liberty Science Center. The press conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. The address is 222 Jersey City Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07305.
