WASHINGTON, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- National and International media
celebrities are organizing an all ages benefit concert for theMyanmar cyclone
victims and survivors on May 18 at The Rock and Roll Hotel & 1353 H Street NE
inWashington D.C.
Recent reports of the rulingMyanmar military junta blocking relief items
arriving viaThailand from reaching victims and survivors promoted the event
organizers to route all funds raised from the May 18th concert event to the
American Red Cross' International emergency response to theMyanmar cyclone.
"The relationship we have forged with the American Red Cross insures that the
funds we will be raising are going to make it directly to cyclone victims,"
said Dee Dee Grucelski, co-event organizer of "The Music for Myanmar Concert
Event." "The most important thing for the public to remember is that
regardless of the rulingMyanmar junta, it is the responsibility of people
around the world to come together to help the cyclone victims and survivors
whose lives are forever changed by this catastrophic event. Our ability to
speak to the people of America and the world as well as gather some of the
most talented compassionate performers is just one way in which we can all
help," said "Zoltar" co-event organizer and performer at the May 18th event.
Seven hours of acoustic and full band performances, a silent auction
featuring limited edition art by "artist to the stars" Bill Rock, sport
