AAA Texas Offers "Free Passport Photos" to Public

WHAT: To help travelers get an early start on their summer vacations,
AAA Texas offices in Austin will offer free passport photos on
Wednesday, May 14th from 9 AM to 6 PM to the public (members
and non-members).
Passport applications are also available in the district
offices. (Please note -- New passports must still be processed
at an authorized passport center such as a U.S. Post Office.)

BACKGROUND
Currently, a set of passport photos costs $7 for AAA members and
$10 for non-members.
ALL PERSONS traveling by air outside of the United States are
required to present a passport or other valid travel document to
enter or re-enter the United States.
LAND AND SEA TRAVEL
CURRENTLY:
U.S. citizens need to present either (a) a passport, passport
card (available in spring 2008) or (b) a government-issued photo
ID, such as a driver's license, along with proof of
citizenship, such as a birth certificate.
LATER:
On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full
requirements of the land and sea phase of Western Hemisphere
Travel Initiative. The proposed rules require most U.S.
citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of
entry to have a passport or passport card.
Each customer is limited to one set of passport photos.
