Ricky Lizalde -- one of the most memorable
contestants on Bravo TV's "Project Runway" -- has created three original
denim designs for Goodwill® to sell on its online auction site,
www.shopgoodwill.com. Bidding for the designer items ends May 19 and May
20, and the proceeds will help fund Goodwill's job training programs that
benefit of hundreds of thousands of people each year.
"Your purchases on shopgoodwill.com help give people the opportunity to
enjoy the dignity that work brings," says Jim Gibbons, President and CEO of
Goodwill Industries International.
The items are designed for savvy style seekers:
-- A sleek, silver-coated denim dress, topped with tulle and
embellished with studs.
-- A spaghetti-strap, pin-stripe dress.
-- A shapely Levi's 501® denim engineer's hat, sporting a
smart black patent leather bill.
And for men:
-- A pair of new Levi's Eco Vintage Straight 539 jeans.
-- A blue plaid short-sleeved shirt.
The special Goodwill sale caps off the recent "Take Your Jeans Off"
campaign spearheaded by Levi Strauss & Co.® and Goodwill Industries®.
Since its launch in 1999, shopgoodwill.com -- the nation's first and only
Internet auction site owned and operated by a nonprofit organization -- has
earned more than $55 million for Goodwill programs in the United States and
Canada. Goodwill channels 83 percent of its revenues into a range of career
programs for people with disabilities, welfare recipients, dislocated
workers and others looking for jobs.
