Mathew Knowles, President and CEO of Music
World Entertainment, was bestowed with the honor of Doctor of Humane
Letters from his alma mater Fisk University at their Commencement 2008
Ceremony. Mr. Knowles is best known as the powerhouse management behind the
success of Grammy Award-winners Beyoncé and global phenomenon Destiny's
Child, the most successful "girl group" in the history of pop music.
Fisk University holds the distinction of being the first Historically Black
University to induct members into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national
honor society. The school produces more African Americans who go on to earn
doctoral degrees in the natural sciences than any school in the nation.
