Hottest Lexus Ever Added to Skip Barber High Performance Driving School
'Ferociously Quick' Lexus IS F Joins HPDS Fleet

Skip Barber Racing's High Performance Driving
School, launched to wide acclaim, is a unique program that combines the
skills taught in the Racing School and the Driving School with seat time in
a collection of high performance sports cars. Beginning in June, the
all-new 5.0-liter V8 Lexus IS F will be added to the current fleet of
Porsches and BMWs at Road Atlanta and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. In August,
the IS Fs will come to Lime Rock Park.
Capable of 0-60 times in the low 4 seconds and quarter-mile times in the
12s, the Lexus IS F comes to school fully armed with 416 horsepower and 371
lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed paddle-shift gearbox. This thundering
sedan utilizes fat Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 rubber: up front, 225/40-19s
and in the rear, 255/35-19s.
Car and Driver writes, "The IS F is an animal... ferociously quick... the
8-speed is wonderfully responsive and prompt," while Road & Track writes,
The IS F "is a confidence-inspiring machine that can be truly flogged..."
Skip Barber Lead Instructor Terry Earwood says, "Driving high-end cars on
the track, we like strong motors and big brakes. The IS F fits the bill
perfectly. Our students will love hustling the Lexus around, I guarantee."
Lexus is a division of Toyota Motor Corp.
Headquartered in Lakeville, Conn., and operating out of five base locations
