Appalachian Trail Adventures announces Vermont's newest hiking spa

  Share With Friends

America is at the door step of a fitness revolution. Contributing to it is Appalachian Trail Adventures (ATA), one of the next generations of hiking spas to open in recent years. These new spas are operated by younger owners armed with new concepts and vision for spas, fitness vacations and weight loss programs for the new millennium.

Appalachian Trail Adventures is a unique hiking and wellness spa for hikers of all abilities, offering daily guided hikes in the Green Mountains of Vermont along the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail.

"ATA and the Grey Bonnet Inn provide an affordable all-inclusive fitness vacation giving guests a real Vermont outdoor adventure. We know you're just as concerned about your pocketbook as you are about the comfort and convenience of your travel accommodations. That's why we have the best spa vacation at the lowest possible prices. Unlike most spas, ATA's owner John Keough is engaged daily with the guests encouraging them to get out of the fitness classroom and go hiking. Why would you come to Vermont or to any spa elsewhere and spend your time exercising indoors in a closed room when you could be outdoors obtaining the same results while exploring mother nature?"

ATA offers daily hikes to the best trails followed by excursions to Vermont's scenic villages. Post hike, guests unwind with a late afternoon yoga class and/or a massage if desired. During busy times, a water aerobics course is offered. But the fun doesn't stop there, after dinner a registered dietitian presents cooking demonstrations while discussing nutritional facts and myths.

"In collaboration with registered dietitians to create a delicious spa menu for those seeking healthier meals, ATA is able to cater to special dietary restrictions and offer two serving sizes. These are a weight loss portion and a hiker's portion so our guests can have customized meals. This enables ATA to cater to couples, athletes, weight loss vacationers, as well as to all those with no dietary restrictions who seek to eat healthily. Guests will be empowered to kick start a new lifestyle by introducing them to several alternatives or options to choose from in order to attain better health, a healthier weight and improved fitness."

ATA's 2008 season runs from June 1st to October 10th
