New York Remodeler from Long Island to be Featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's New Orleans Episode to Help Katrina Victims
EAST MEADOW, N.Y., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- With Hurricane Katrina still
taking a toll on families on the road to recovery, resources and manpower are
scarce and it will take the efforts of the entire country to come together to
make a difference. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition finished their 50-state tour
recently by calling a nationwide builder coalition to help the extreme team
tackleLouisiana, and called on Alure Home Improvements and Alure CEO Sal
Ferro to again help lead the way.
Long Island's Alure Home Improvements was among a handful of lead builders
selected from across the country for the show's last stop on the 50-state,
two-season tour.
The 2-hour season finale will air on Sunday, May 18th, from 7-9pm EDT.
Alure's President & CEO Sal Ferro has also been quite busy in addition to
the recent makeover.
Ferro, often sought to share his experience at industry conferences and
seminars, is speaking at Hofstra University inLong Island on Wednesday,
May 14th to talk about "Strategies to Make Customers Raving Fans", from
8am - 10am.
On Monday, May 5th, Ferro was honored by Remodeling Magazine at the Big 50
conference inWashington, DC as one of four finalists for the annual Fred Case
Award; The Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes the
entrepreneurial spirit of remodelers and the importance of creativity and
innovation in the industry.
On April 30th, Ferro was honored by the Long Island Museum for leading
Alure into the Green Revolution, and Alure's commitment to the environment
