Without disclosing the exact place where the Lashkar commander was arrested, police sources said that he was arrested by police personnel in civvies while traveling in a bus. The arrested militant commander was identified as Junaid.

"We were closely following his activities and managed to arrest him while he was traveling in a bus. He did not offer any resistance," added the police sources.

"He was an IED expert and was involved in various IED attacks on troops in restive Kashmir," said the police sources, adding, "Police and army personnel were searching for him and had announced a reward on his head".

They termed the arrest of Junaid as a major blow to Lashkar-e-Toiba. "This will further weaken the militant group in Kashmir and also impact its ability to carry out IED attacks," they added.
