As the Economy Tightens, Employers Look to RetireeWorkforce.com for Knowledgeable, Stable & Loyal Employees
MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Though the economy is slowing
in certain sectors, employers are still hiring.
The caveat is that they are taking a closer look at the character of their
candidates.
The average turnover rate for private industries in the U.S. exceeds 25%,
and represents a huge cost to businesses.
RetireeWorkforce.com is a niche job board that connects retirees and those
about to retire with companies that wish to hire these knowledgeable,
personable and loyal candidates.
"Studies show that mature workers are three times more likely to stay with
one employer than a younger worker," said E. Scott Wingerter, COO. "These
workers have superior customer service skills, care about doing a good job and
are loyal to employers who give them a chance to perform and produce,"
Wingerter said.
Recent studies by AARP and the U.S. General Accounting Office identified
the mature employee's greatest assets (compared to younger demographics) as;
lower absenteeism, punctuality, commitment to quality, more eager to learn new
skills and a positive attitude.
The increase in demand for workers has already begun. A recent study by
Hyrian, a recruitment process outsourcing company, found that last year there
were 4.5 million more jobs than people, increasing to 5 million this year and
expected to be 10 million by 2010.
Joseph J. Scalice RetireeWorkforce.com President, said, "Mature workers
generally will not apply for positions open to the general population because
they fear they will not be considered because of age discrimination. They also
wrongly feel that their skills and abilities do not qualify them for many of
the employment opportunities currently offered."
RetireeWorkforce.com Board Member Myles Fuchs, President of Pressmart
Media, Ltd. and a former senior executive at Careerbuilder.com said, "HR
departments do not have the time or the manpower to sort through the vast
number of resumes, many of which are unqualified. The general job boards, such
as Monster and Hotjobs, are not satisfying the recruiters.
RetireeWorkforce.com is offering candidates with the skills and traits that
companies want."
"The most important factor for employers wishing to take advantage of the
experience & reliability of mature workers is to communicate that they are
specifically focusing on them for employment. RetireeWorkforce.com offers the
perfect resource to find and hire these quality employees," Scalice noted.
