Pakistani Army Cooperates to Recover Body of Drowned Kashmiri Youth

Srinagar, May 7: Indian army retrieved body of a drowned Kashmiri civilian from Pakistan army.
An Indian army spokesman in Srinagar, Lt Col A K Mathur told NewsBlaze that a 30 year old youth, Mohammad Ilyas Ahmad Khan of village Chandanwari along the frontier with Pakistan slipped down in river Jhelum while working in the wee hours of April 27 this year. "A thorough search was carried out in the river to fish out his body, but efforts failed because the flow of the river was very fast", he said.
The Indian army spokesman said that top army officer, Brigadier Hira, Commander Uri Brigade, approached Pakistan army officials on April 28 to help in the search of the drowned youth. "A passport size photo of Ilyas was also handed over to Pakistan army authorities to facilitate his identification," he said, adding, "His body was fished out from Jhelum by the Pakistan Army near Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan controlled Kashmir".
The spokesman said that on the request of senior Indian army officer, the Pakistan Army fully cooperated to trace the body of the Kashmiri youth. "The body of the youth was handed over to Indian army on May 4 and they in turn handed it over to the family members of the deceased", he added.
