A woman's womb gives life to the world. A man's mouth gives life to a woman. ~Eshe
Nathan A. Chowilawu-Eshe* didn't shy away from the more intimate relations between man and woman in his soon-to-be-released book, My Love. Actor Jean Hooks recently questioned Eshe on the more sensual and intimate proverbs in My Love.
"There are a few proverbs on tasting a woman, and loving life's womb that I had to question Nathan about," says Hooks. "The wisdom in these proverbs is exactly what men and women need as they try to negotiate their journey and relate with one another. Nathan presents a road map to intimacy, giving, and vulnerability in a very loving and trustful way."
A woman's mouth holds all the beauty and flavor of the earth. On her lips are patchouli, sage and rose. On her tongue we can feel every grain of sand on every beach in this world. And the moisture of her mouth is every river, stream and ocean.
~Eshe
Eshe says he chooses to address intimacy and love making head-on so there is no confusion. "I just dont see how a discussion of love, trust, and vulnerability can take place without also discussing intimacy and love making," says Eshe. "Intimacy is one of the rewards of love and trust between man and woman. It is where couples can find the healing they need in that aspect of their lives. There's nothing wrong with that type of healing."
The interview took place at the historic underground books in Oak Park, California. Hooks, an actor and board member of the theatre company Celebration Arts, directed her questions on being vulnerable, the appreciation of women, and how Eshe's book - My Love, saved his life. Excerpts of the interview will appear on Eshe's website, NathanEshe.com, on May 11, 2008 Mother's Day.
"We really discuss the topics of seeking God, being a man and loving a woman," says Hooks. "Nathan has really presented a holistic and uncommon approach to manhood and spirituality with this book. I am of the opinion that the people who watch the interviews will appreciate the questions and responses. I believe many people will find insight and healing from the book and the interview."
NathanEshe.com is scheduled to launch on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008. Visitors will be able to: view snippets of the interview, browse My Love before buying, and advance purchase will be available for visitors. A free recording of The Messenger Poem will also be available for download.
