Covenant House Light the Night Gala to Honor Christopher Gardner, Best-selling Author of The Pursuit of Happyness Tuesday, June 3, 6 pm, Waldorf=Astoria
NEW YORK, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Christopher Gardner, best-selling author
of The Pursuit of Happyness, will be honored at the Covenant House Light the
Night Gala on Tuesday, June 3, 6 pm, at the Waldorf=Astoria.
"The funds raised from this gala will help keep the doors of Covenant
House open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for homeless and runaway youth,"

philanthropist will empower our Covenant House kids to overcome their
adversities and pursue their dreams."
Covenant House is the largest privately funded agency in the Americas
providing services to homeless kids. In 2007, Covenant House reached 65,849
homeless children, offering them life-changing services.

Proceeds from the Light the Night Gala, live and silent auctions, a 50/50
raffle and ad journal will help provide food, clothing and medical attention,
as well as innovative job training programs, educational plans and housing
opportunities that will transform lives.
The Light the Night Gala will feature performances by some of Broadway's
biggest stars including:
Neil Berg -- composer/lyricist of the hit Off-Broadway musical The
Prince and the Pauper, currently composer for the new Broadway musical
Grumpy Old Men.
Rob Evan -- starred in the title roles in Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde,
Jean Valjean in Les Miserables (Broadway and National Touring Company),
currently playing the role of Kerchak on Broadway in Disney's Tarzan.
Rita Harvey -- starred as Hodel in the recent Broadway revival of
Fiddler on the Roof, debuted on Broadway in the lead role of Christine
Daee in The Phantom of the Opera.
Capathia Jenkins -- starred in the Broadway productions of Fame Becomes
Me, Look of Love and Civil War.
Danny Zolli -- is best known for his monumental number of performances
as Jesus, Judas and Annas in more than 18 productions of Jesus Christ
Superstar throughout the world.
In addition, some of the remarkable young people from Covenant House will
join the Broadway stars on stage to share their inspiring stories of courage.
