Armed Robbery At La Bou, Folsom Boulevard

  Share With Friends

Folsom Police Officers responded to a robbery in progress involving three suspects. On May 2nd, 2008 at approximately 3:31 P.M. Folsom Police received a '911' call from the La Bou Cafe in the 13000 block of Folsom Blvd. regarding a robbery in progress. Officers arrived on the scene approximately four minutes later and learned the suspects had fled the scene on foot, running south-bound into the business/light industrial area.

Patrol Officers, Motor Officers, and Detectives quickly established a perimeter around the area and a search began. K9 Units from the Folsom Police Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and helicopter support from the Sacramento Police Department arrived to assist. After an approximately 90 minute search, investigators developed information that the suspects had likely fled the scene just prior to the first officer's arrival.

The victims reported that two of the suspects, one of whom was possibly a juvenile, had spent some time in the business just prior to the store's closing time. As the store closed and all of the customers left, the adult male suspect left the store briefly and then reentered with an adult female. The male was armed with a sawed off shotgun and the female with a handgun.

The suspects ordered the employees to the ground at gunpoint and then forced one of the employees into the store's office, making the victim open the safe. The suspects then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims did not suffer any physical injury.

The adult male subject was described as an African-American male in his 20's, approximately 5'10"-5'11" with average build. He was wearing a beige sweatshirt with a brown pattern and a short-brimmed hat. The female suspect was described as an African-American adult in her 20's, approximately 5'6"-5'8" in height wearing her hair pulled back into a bun. She was wearing a yellow shirt and sunglasses. The juvenile was said to be an African-American male, between 12-17 years of age, approximately 4'10"-5' with a medium build, short hair, and a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark, long sleeved shirt. A witness reported seeing the possible suspects flee the scene in a newer, white 4-door, possible a Nissan sedan.

Folsom Police Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators remained on scene, collecting evidence and interviewing victims and witnesses. Detectives are investigating if there is a link between this crime and the home invasion robbery that occurred on Sierra Oak Ct. in Folsom on May 1st, 2008.

Anyone with any information about this crime is urged to contact Det. Robert Challoner at 916-355-7209 or We Tip at 1800-78-CRIME.
