DATAllegro Announces Series D Funding

Data Warehouse Appliance Vendor Raises $19.6 Million to Grow Sales Channel

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., May 1, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- DATAllegro, supplier of the most advanced data warehouse appliance on an enterprise-class platform, today announced the closing of its "Series D" round of funding totaling $19.6 million. The funding will be used to grow the company's sales channel.

The round was led by an affiliate of the Hillman Company. All other venture capital groups from previous rounds of funding, including Adams Capital Management, Focus Ventures, Intel Capital, JAFCO Ventures, Palomar Ventures and Venrock Associates, met or exceeded their pro rata.

The round was an up round from the company's "Series C" funding, which was completed in September of 2006, reflecting the company's growing success in the data warehouse market.

"The Hillman Company is a great addition to our investor group," said Stuart Frost, CEO, DATAllegro. "Securing this funding validates our product's strength in the market and will allow us to broaden our reach by growing our sales channel."

"DATAllegro is well positioned to take advantage of the corporate community's need for massive data warehouses on flexible platforms," said Joe Manzinger, President and CEO, The Hillman Company. "We feel the company can be a dominant leader in the market and are pleased to help fund its sales growth."

DATAllegro is the only data warehouse appliance technology to allow companies to utilize hub-and-spoke data warehouse architectures. Other technologies such as Teradata and Netezza require companies to centralize all data into one data warehouse or to use disparate data marts. Hub-and-spoke architectures better align with the architecture of a business, allowing both business units and corporate management to analyze the company's data. DATAllegro is able to provide this through its grid technology, which allows data to be transferred node-to-node much faster than any other product on the market.

ABOUT HILLMAN COMPANY
