Cricket Launches Affordable, Unlimited Wireless Phone and Internet Services in Las Vegas on May 13


LAS VEGAS, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, will offer its simple and affordable mobile phone and wireless internet services inLas Vegas beginning on May 13. Cricket's unlimited services, which do not require contracts or credit checks, will provide a simple wireless solution toLas Vegas consumers.

Cricket is known for providing unlimited wireless services at a predictable and affordable flat rate. The company offers monthly rate plans ranging from $30 to $60 per month, which include unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited U.S. long-distance, unlimited text and picture messaging, unlimited text toMexico, unlimited Mobile Web, unlimited directory assistance, nationwide roaming minutes, and the freedom to travel within any of Cricket's calling areas stretching across 23 states. The company does not require customers to sign contracts or pass credit checks.

In addition to unlimited mobile phone services, Cricket is also offering Cricket Wireless Internet Service, allowing customers unlimited internet access anywhere in Cricket's coverage areas. The UTStarcom UM100C tri-band USB modem is available for $99 with a combination of instant and mail-in rebates, and the Cricket monthly broadband service plan is just $35 per month for customers who also have Cricket's low-cost unlimited voice plans, and $40 per month as a stand-alone service.

Cricket will host a news conference at the Rainbow Promenade on Tuesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. to officially introduce Cricket to the community and discuss the company's service offerings and plans for community involvement. Cricket strives to become an active community partner, and will partner with local nonprofit organizations and community groups. Additionally, the Company is investing in the local economy through infrastructure development, marketing, advertising, sponsorships and community service efforts. Cricket will bring more than 230 jobs toLas Vegas, including approximately 120 through its dealer partners.

Cricket will launch inLas Vegas with a variety of fun activities, contests and giveaways to engage the community with events taking place across the city, including:

    --  Tuesday, May 13:
            --  Grand Opening News Conference: The Cricket store at the
                Rainbow Promenade (2051 N. Rainbow Blvd.) will host a
                ribbon-cutting ceremony, games and prizes, including a balloon
                pop and pie-eating contest. Festivities begin at 10 a.m.

    --  Wednesday, May 14:
            --  Fastest Fingers Text Competition: The Cricket store at
                University Plaza (1131 East Tropicana Ave.) will host a speed
                text messaging competition. Think you can send the most text
                messages the fastest? The action begins at 1 p.m.
            --  Military Appreciation Day: Every member of the U.S. military
                who comes into any Cricket retail store will receive
                30 percent off all items including service.

    --  Thursday, May 15:
            --  Free Gas on Cricket: Beginning at 5 p.m. Cricket will be
                giving away $10,000 in free gas at a location announced during
                launch week.
            --  Shred Your Bill:  Customers who come in to the Cricket store
                at the Rancho Alta Mira Center (4830 West Craig Rd.) from
                3 - 7 p.m. will have the opportunity to shred their current
                wireless bill for Cricket prizes.

    --  Friday, May 16:
            --  The Great Cricket Race:  Every 25th person who visits the
                Cricket store at 1616 E. Charleston will win a Cricket prize.
            --  The Cricket Dance off:  At the Cricket store at the Boulevard
                Mall (3528 South Maryland Pkwy.) from 6 - 8 p.m., local dance
                teams showcasing their breakdance and hip hop skills will
                compete for cash prizes, free phones, and free service.

    --  Saturday, May 17:
            --  Plinko Contest: Customers at the Cricket store located inside
                the Meadows Mall (4300 Meadows Lane) will have a chance to win
                prizes by playing plinko from 10 a.m. - noon.
            --  Cricket Spring Carnival: A carnival will take place in the
                parking lot at the Cricket store on Flamingo Jones Center
                (6134 West Flamingo Rd.) from 1 - 4 p.m.  Family-friendly
                events include games, clowns, face painters, and for all who
                attend.
