My 2 Cents Worth on Alan Gray's Undated Article Concerning Scientology

By Mike Morgan

Just want to pop in my 2 cents worth on Alan Gray's undated article concerning Scientology. In that article Mr. Gray states that the Internet allows for "anyone, anywhere to have their say, to have a voice...". That statement is probably true, however, he should have added the term "no matter how inaccurate those comments may be..."

I am a scientologist. I am not nor have I ever been a member of the Church staff. Therefore, I observe the same things you do regarding Scientology on the Internet. Scientology operates under the same legal umbrella as everyone else. If someone has the right to launch attacks on Scientology, then why doesn't Scientology have that same right? Especially if those people are misrepresenting facts or are violating copyright laws.

Though you may not believe me, I can categorically state that Scientology IS NOT what Anonymous says it is. Most critics of Scientology do not understand the basic foundations that make Scientology a religion. I have heard Scientology is against prescription drugs: we are not. I heard that auditing is just like hypnosis: it is not. I even heard someone say that Scientology "intimidated" the IRS into giving them their tax exempt status. Now who on this planet can intimidate the IRS?

The laborious point that I am trying to make is that Scientology is being attacked with lies, half-truths and hearsay. No, Scientology is not perfect and it was never meant to be "perfect" just workable. The Bridge is a road map laid out by LRH, follow that map and you will reach your spiritual goal! Don't follow it and you are not doing Scientology. So if you disagree with any aspect of Scientology my advice is: don't join!

You mentioned "mental health" in your article. Do this comparison. Go visit your local mental health hospital or asylum and ask how many deaths occur there annually. They probably even have a morgue on premises. Go to your local Scientology organization and ask the same question.

Go to any psychiatrist or psychologist and ask them how many people have they cured? What tests do they use to determine the "disease" of bi-polar disorder, ADHD or clinical depression?

Ask them what medical tests they perform to determine whether or not those symptoms are being caused by nutritional deficiencies or other environmental factors (allergies or toxins) before prescribing the current pill Du jour. Ask them how much money they get from pharmaceutical companies when they prescribe those "medications". You will be appalled or rather you should be appalled.

Again, scientology is not perfect. It will have its critics. But those critics should report the whole story, not half-truths and hearsay.

Thank you.
