Allstate Expands Choices for Texas Homeowners

"This is about bringing innovation to the marketplace," said Allstate Texas Region Product Manager Jessica Friedman. "We're changing the way people look at insurance by offering options and the freedom to personalize coverage to fit every family."

Friedman says Allstate is increasingly differentiating itself from the competition by thinking outside the box to create pioneering new choices that allow home and auto insurance customers to pick from a menu of possibilities based on their individual needs.

"It's a new way of doing business to give the consumer more choice," Friedman said.

Allstate's latest entree into the field of innovation is Your Choice Home -- a package of new and expanded home insurance coverage features unveiled to the company's 1,200Texas agency owners this month in a series of "road show" meetings across the state.

Your Choice Home gives Allstate'sTexas agency force seven new features and personalized options to offer consumers and a fresh look at five existing coverages.

    Staking a Claim:

    -- Claim-Free Bonus - Homeowners receive up to 5% toward their renewal
       premium after going 12 months without a claim.
    -- Claim RateGuard - Homeowners rates won't go up just because a claim is
       filed. (Applies to one claim every five years.)
    -- Guaranteed Renewal for Claims - Homeowners policies will not be dropped
       just because of the number of claims filed.


    Contemporary Concerns:

    -- Identity Restoration - Saves homeowners time and money by allowing them
       to hire a firm to assist with restoring their good name, as well as
       reimbursing them for expenses associated with having their identity
       stolen.
    -- Electronic Data Recovery - Pays for the professional help needed to
       research, restore or replace lost electronic data and photographs on
       computers.
    -- Home Enterprise Coverage - Provides protection for personal business
       property -- not typically covered under a standard homeowners policy --
       including equipment, furniture and data, along with liability
       protection for business activities.


    Pastime Protection:

    -- Yard & Garden - Increases limits and expands coverage for items
       including trees, landscaping and lawnmowers.
    -- Sports & Leisure - Provides protection up to $10,000 for sports
       equipment, including hunting rifles, kayaks and canoes.
    -- Music & Photography - Expands coverage up to $5,000 for musical
       instruments and $5,000 for camera equipment ($10,000 total).

Your Choice Home follows Allstate's successful Your Choice Auto product. Launched inTexas in 2005, Your Choice Auto offers a new approach to auto insurance with choices like accident forgiveness, deductible rewards and new car replacement.
