Death Becomes Her in Sex in the City Movie?

Four years ago in Manhattan, four smart and beautiful girlfriends have settled down. Columnist Carrie Bradshaw and billionaire Mr. Big are finally together - again; lawyer Miranda has finally married on/off longtime boyfriend Steve; PR specialist Samantha Jones is now in remission from cancer and is involved with younger actor/model Smith Jarrod; optimistic Charlotte is married again, as she and her husband are adopting a baby girl.

Now four years later, these women are back and coming to theatres this summer with Sex in the City: The Movie. This film sequel to the HBO series finds Carrie and Big, whose (spoiler alert) real name is John James Preston, engaged to be married; Charlotte finally becoming pregnant, as Miranda and Steve are at a crossroads in their marriage. However, the biggest surprise of this film is that someone close to Carrie will die.

"There's a loss that happens that's pretty tough" stated Cynthia Nixon, who reprises her role as Miranda. The actress, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, reveals that the death of this character will hit Carrie pretty hard. "Something significant happens to Carrie", she continues, "and it really forces her to ask questions about yourself."

Sex in the City aired on HBO from 1998 to 2004, earning Emmys and Golden Globe awards for the series, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nixon, and Kim Cattrall. The series also received praise from the public for writing honestly about women and sex, as it continues to be popular thanks to the world of syndication. Besides Parker, Nixon, and Kristin Davis, Chris Noth, Willie Garson, Evan Handler, and Jason Lewis are also returning. Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) joins this highly anticipated event, which comes out after Memorial Day. Producers are already in the works for a sequel for this $65 million picture.

And as far which character will die, it is possible that it could be Charlotte, who may suffer problems in her pregnancy; it could be Samantha's cancer returning, or Carrie's fiancé John - aka Big - for he had open heart surgery in one episode of the series.

"Get Carried Away" again with the ladies of Sex in the City, in theatres May 30.
