Governor's Office of Homeland Security to Announce Rail Security Grants
By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
The California Office of Homeland Security's Director Matthew Bettenhausen is to announce additional grant funding to Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin Corridor rail systems.
Release of the grants is part of the voter-approved Proposition 1B funds to enhance rail, port and transit security.
On Tuesday next week, Director Bettenhausen and Caltrans officials are expected to comment on the ongoing effort by Governor Schwartzenegger. They will talk about the goals of the Governor and Office of Homeland Security to prevent, respond to, and recover from any disaster and to secure California's economy.
The announcement is planned for Tuesday, April 29, at the Sacramento Rail Depot.
