Schwaggin' Wagon Rockin' at Web 2.0 Expo Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Your Swag!
Just in time for Earth Day, The Schwaggin' Wagon will be making its debut at the Web 2.0 Expo this week. Its purpose? To reduce, reuse, and recycle unwanted conference swag and put it in the hands of those who need it most.
Starting Wednesday, the Schwaggin' Wagon will be taking swag donations in the form of t-shirts, triangular highlighters, and corporate sponsored Slinkies for the Inner Kids Foundation and various other charities outside of San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center. In addition, the Schwaggin' will be chauffeuring conference goers to various 2.0 after parties in style. The tricked-out 15-passenger van is fully equipped with faux fur interior, lights, and fresh beats sponsored by JamBase.
Visit the Schwaggin' blog and Schwaggin' Facebook page for regular updates on the van's whereabouts. You can follow the Schwaggin' on Twitter ("Schwaggin") as well. Special thanks goes out to the Schwaggin' Sponsors who made this happen: Mashable, Heavybag Media, Hydra, Dogster, Twiistup, JamBase, and e-storm.
This experiment is part proof of concept for the collaborative power of social media, part socially responsible call to arms, and part fun!

About the Schwaggin' Wagon
The Schwaggin' Wagon was conceived at a Thai restaurant last week in Los Feliz, CA. Emerging Media Consultant Michael Liskin had an idea about all of the swag that goes to waste post tech conference - he suggested what could be done about it to fellow consultant David Preciado who instantly hopped on board to collaborate. They discussed how there were plenty of adults and kids who could use some extra t-shirts and hats for free! Why not collect the stuff and donate it to charity? Michael put in a call to his colleagues: Social Media PR Consultant, Marjorie Kase, who immediately lined up sponsors and got the Schwaggin' in motion; Andy Sternberg, who jumped on board to handle the website; Kyra Reed for community development, and Daniel Hartman as general counsel; the team was now complete!
