B102.7 helps send Terre Haute resident battling cancer to see brother perform live.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (EWORLDWIRE) Apr 16, 2008

It's been months since Terre Haute resident Adam Cook has seen his brother David. Since January, viewers have watched as David fulfills his dream, making the cut week after week on Foxas "American Idol." As anticipation builds, time grows short for his brother Adam, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Doctors fear he may not survive long enough to witness his brother become the next American Idol.

Upon learning this, Crossroads Communications Hot Adult-Contemporary radio station B102.7 (WBOW-FM) and LifeLine, a Clarian Health partner, have teamed up to send Adam and his wife to California this week to watch his brother perform live. Due to his condition, doctors warn against traveling via commercial flight, but special medical transportation can cost upwards of $40,000, making it impossible for Cook to see his brother on-stage live.

LifeLine, a Clarian Health partner, has donated medical transportation and the assistance of a full-time nurse and medic to Adam and his wife, making it possible to travel the 3,000 miles to Hollywood. B102.7 and the Terre Haute community will provide accommodations for Adam, his wife, and his medical staff throughout the duration of their stay.

"This literally came to be in the course of a day or so. In that short amount of time, we have seen so many people step up to support someone they donat even know carry out his last wishes. Individuals and businesses alike have donated and continue to call and e-mail, asking how they can help. It's truly touching - it makes me proud of the city I call home," says B102.7 Program Director and Morning Co-Host Adam Michaels.

"Idol" contestant David Cook has agreed to perform live in Terre Haute, once his legal obligations with "American Idol" have been fulfilled.
