Every 15 Minutes Comes to Folsom High School
What: The Every 15 Minutes Program combines the efforts of several local and state agencies to promote awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving to high school juniors and seniors. This year's program at Folsom High School will simulate a two car drunk driving collision and the emergency response of medical and law enforcement personnel from Folsom Fire, Folsom Police and the CHP Helicopter. The ultimate goal is to educate the youth in our community about the possible consequences that come with the decision to drink and drive.
When: 9.45 a.m. Wednesday, April 16th 2008
Where: Folsom High School - 1655 Iron Point Road (at the Prairie City Road school entrance)
Who: A select group of junior and seniors will re-enact a simulated double fatal, two car collision, before their entire junior and senior classmates. Folsom Police, Folsom Fire and the CHP Helicopter will be assisting in the emergency response to the mock collision. The entire re-enactment will be narrated by Folsom Fire.
Important: Media is invited to attend the event. Due to parking on-site being limited, please contact Officer Beattie at (916) 439-4458 if you wish to attend. Additionally, please remember that although this is a re-enactment, fire and police will be treating the scene as an "active crime scene." Please provide enough distance (approx 25') between the media camera and the scene.
The Folsom Police Department and Folsom High School extend a special thanks to the Office of Traffic Safety and the California Highway Patrol, whose grant funding assisted in making this event possible.
