Live Analysis of Operations Management Benchmark Data Reveals Best-In-Class Manufacturing Strategies
SOMERVILLE, Mass., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Spotfire, a division of TIBCO
Software Inc., and Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks company, today announced they
will jointly present a live analysis of the data behind Aberdeen's benchmark
Manufacturing Operations Management study. Matthew Littlefield, a senior
manufacturing analyst for Aberdeen, will field questions and interact with the
data live to illustrate technology and operational strategies that
Best-in-Class manufacturers have pursued to outperform Industry Laggards.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to investigate how their companies'
particular operational approaches and technology roadmaps compare to
Best-in-Class using a Spotfire on-line analytics tool, pre-loaded with the
benchmark data.
Of the 250 manufacturers surveyed, 20% can be classified as Best-in-Class,
these having achieved on average: 97% on time delivery, 89% overall equipment
effectiveness and 97% raw material utilization. The data show these results
to be associated with an emerging generation of manufacturing systems, with
Best-in-Class twice as likely as others to deploy manufacturing analytics, and
nearly three times more likely to provide real-time, role-based data
visibility to decision makers. The presentation will not be slide-ware, but
instead a visual, interactive dive into the data, allowing attendees to see,
and analyze for themselves how their peers, by industry, geography, revenue
etc. are adopting new technology to achieve Best-in-Class performance.
"Event-based, real-time, analytical systems that interoperate across
maintenance, production, quality, inventory and financial systems are becoming
critical for success, but they are also becoming easier to use and deploy.
Given today's technology landscape, Laggards have few excuses for not
improving their competitive position," states Matthew Littlefield. "As a
matter of fact, our presentation will leverage analytics to explore the
benchmark results -- Laggards should take note."
