Michelle Obama to Appear on 'The Colbert Report' on Tuesday, April 15 at 11:30 P.M. ET/PT


NEW YORK, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Michelle Obama will appear as a guest on "The Colbert Report" on Tuesday, April 15 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT as part of the Peabody(R) Award-winning and Emmy(R)-nominated show's week-long, special coverage of the all-important Pennsylvania Democratic Primary. Obama's appearance on "The Colbert Report" will be her first on late-night television.

"The Colbert Report: Dorito's Spicy Sweet Pennsylvania Primary Coverage From Chili-Delphia -- The City of Brotherly Crunch!" is taping at the 900-seat Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Zellerbach Theatre on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania and will air nightly at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT from Monday, April 14 through Thursday, April 17. This marks the first time the show will broadcast from a remote location.

The week will include filmed pieces such as a tour ofPhiladelphia and an installment of the 434-part series "Better Know A District" with Congressman Joe Sestak, representing "The Fightin' 7th" district ofPennsylvania. Others scheduled to appear includePennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell;Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter; Representative Patrick Murphy (D-PA), the only sitting Congressman to have served inIraq; Chris Matthews; musical performances by The Roots and John Legend; and a special appearance by the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders.

"The Colbert Report" airs regularly Monday-Thursday at 11:30 p.m. following "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." Repeat episodes air Monday-Thursday at 1:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and Friday at 8:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (all times ET/PT).
