FORWARD OPERATING BASE LOYALTY, Iraq - Capt. Preston Thayer, platoon leader for 1st Platoon, Company A, Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad from Sewell, N.J., stands in front of a Mine Resistance Ambush Protected vehicle. Thayer is in charge of a BSTB route-clearance platoon that clears routes throughout New Baghdad. He is responsible for more than 20 combat engineers and has conducted more than 150 missions. He and his platoon help keep the citizens of Baghdad and Coalition Forces safe on roads throughout New Baghdad.
