BMC Software CEO to Keynote Column Technologies' Fifth Annual Borgata Event

NEW YORK, April 9, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Column's Borgata Event has become a vital industry affair for IT executive, directors, managers and BMC Remedy Service Management users, said Tim Yario, President and CEO of Column. "The Borgata Event is a great place for BMC clients to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and hear real case studies spoken through the eyes of the customer," Yario said.

IT professionals can sharpen their ITIL skills on May 5-7 by taking the ITIL Foundations V3 Certification Course, which will be held at the Borgata from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The three-day course cost $1495 per student and introduces the IT Infrastructure Library(R) and the concept of IT Service Management (ITSM). It outlines the processes required to deliver, measure, and improve IT services and provides a comprehensive look at the concepts and terminology necessary for Foundation level understanding of ITIL V3. Interested attendees can register online at http://www.columnit.com.

The Borgata Event opens up on May 7 with an evening cocktail and networking reception that provides industry professionals an opportunity to socialize with their peers and top-level executives from Column, BMC Software and major international corporations.

Management solutions industry expert and President and CEO of BMC Software Bob Beauchamp will be the keynote speaker at Column Technologies Fifth Annual Borgata Event featuring BMC Software on May 8. Following the keynote presentation, a panel discussion with IT executives will be held from participating companies including Motorola and CARFAX to discuss the reality, maturity, and importance of business service management.

Bob Beauchamp will host a VIP luncheon for top-level executives. The hosted lunch is by invitation only. Interested executives should contact Belia Ortega for formal registration.

The afternoon opens with four concurrent sessions of customer presentations on their experiences with BMC products from 1:30 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. Tom Payne, IT project manager at Group Health Cooperative, will speak on "Planning, Migration, and Implementation of a CMDB;" Greg Fornal, business analyst at APC, will cover "Going from a Custom Service Catalog to BMC Service Request Management;" and Samuel Jeffers and Rich Lawson of Charter Communications will present on moving into ITSM Change Management.

In addition, Kamlesh Patel, software development manager at eBay, will speak on the "Continual Process Improvement with Kinetic Data;" Porter Sherman, director of service improvement program at UBS Investments, will take an in-depth look at ITIL V3; and David Savino, vice president of services at Column, will speak on the importance of data modeling.

Sponsors to this year's event include Aeroprise, the World leader in mobility solutions for IT Service Management and Kinetic Data, one of the largest and most experienced third-party BMC Remedy software companies in the world.

Registration is complimentary for all conference events and can be accomplished by visiting http://www.columnit.com. Please contact Belia Ortega at (630) 515-6631 or bortega@columnit.com for more information.
