It's National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide - and the perfect time to discover how you can join the circle of knowledge at your library.
The Folsom Public Library celebrates National Library Week with several activities:
For adult readers and information-seekers age 18 and up:

John Grisham's The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town is the featured book for the afternoon book discussion group at 1 p.m. Thursday April 17.

April 19, 2 p.m. - Teen Movie Matinee
A fairytale princess is about to meet a real prince charming when our world and the animated world collide in a parody of Disney's animated films (starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, Rated PG)
"Every day, libraries in big cities and small towns, colleges and universities, in schools and in businesses help transform their communities," says Katy Curl, Library Director. "At our library, people of all backgrounds can come together for community meetings, lectures and programs, do research with the assistance of a trained professional, get a job or find homework help.
"We also have a comprehensive offering of online reference resources which provide information 24/7 via our website on topics from health and wellness to car and home repair. Many of the electronic resources are targeted specifically to students and their research needs."
To reach the gateway for electronic resources, go to the City's website at www.folsom.ca.us. Under Departments, choose Library Services, then Online Databases. Your Library card number is your pass code. If you need assistance, call the Reference Desk at (916) 355-7357.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
