Persystent Technologies Announces Automated Enforcement and Support of the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) and NIST SCAP Configuration Standards Mandate

Persystent Technologies, the industry leader in
automated PC repair and policy enforcement solutions, today announced its
active support and solution for the Federal Desktop Core Configuration
(FDCC) compliant mandate, as directed by the Office of Management and
Budget (OMB).
Persystent Technologies provides enterprise-wide PC policy enforcement and
automated restore of the configuration of Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows
XP or Vista devices against the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC)
and NIST SCAP configuration standard policies, a requirement for all
Federal agencies.
The Office of Management and Budget has issued memorandums to government
CIOs requiring the adoption and implementation of the secure Federal
Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) baseline for Microsoft Windows XP and
Vista by February 1, 2008. These memorandums also provide language for
agencies to use in solicitations to ensure new acquisitions include these
common security configurations and information technology providers certify
their products operate effectively using these configurations.
Persystent Technologies, an OEM Business Partner of IBM (NYSE: IBM), will
leverage its flagship solution, Persystent Enterprise that automatically
enforces a PC's 'desired state' to meet the FDCC standard to ensure
compliance and support of the NIST SCAP configuration for the targeted
operating systems -- Microsoft XP and Vista.
"Persystent Technologies is committed to supporting NIST's Federal Desktop
Core Configuration standards and delivering solutions that help make
government agencies both secure and compliant," said Ken Fitzpatrick Chief
Marketing Officer, Persystent Technologies. "Embedding FDCC policies into
the Persystent Enterprise Manager provides an automated, cost-effective way
for agencies to meet OMB's mandated enforcement and ongoing maintenance of
their overall information security while reducing operating costs."
Persystent Enterprise can measure and report on configuration compliance
and configuration changes across all PCs, On or Off the network, providing
visibility into system configurations and the compliance impact of changes
with an automated solution. The configuration information -- which can be
grouped and analyzed by agency, department, geography or any other
characteristic -- compares actual configurations with established
benchmarks and baselines, and provides customizable reporting for
monitoring and regulatory purposes.
"Persystent Technologies adds a unique and innovative solution that allows
PC managers the ability to enforce, manage and update the FDCC and SCAP
Configurations to ensure compliance automatically," said Jay West, Director
of Federal Sales, Mainline Information Systems. "We are delighted to offer
Persystent Enterprise to our Federal customers who can realize real value
quickly."
