MEGA TV To Pay Homage to Cachao With Special Programming
- "Mega News", "Bayly" and "Raíces y Recuerdos" will offer posthumous tribute to the Latin music master credited with creating the mambo -
Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) (NASDAQ: SBSA) announced today that its station MEGA TV will include in its programming this week several tributes to Cuban musician Israel "Cachao" López, who recently died in Coral Gables, Florida.
"Mega News" will offer a special coverage dedicated to the bass player and composer born in Havana, this Sunday 30 at 7 P.M. EST and 8 P.M. PT.
"Bayly" will repeat on Saturday 29 at 10 P.M. EST and 11 P.M. PT an exclusive interview with Cachao, one of the last interviews granted by the legendary musician to Hispanic media in United States.
Besides, "Raíces y Recuerdos" will air on Sunday 30 at 9 P.M. EST and 10 P.M. PT a special edition dedicated to remember the life and works of the pioneer of the mambo -awarded the Best Latin Album GRAMMY in 1995 -, who died last 22nd of March at age 89.
Do not miss the SBS homage to Israel "Cachao" López, - the Cuban musician that put Latin American jazz on the map in USA-, on MEGA TV Canal 22 in Miami, on Channel 169 of DirecTV in Puerto Rico and on Channel 405 of DirecTV Mas in the rest of the country.
