Multi-National Division - Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD - A car bomb exploded in the western Baghdad neighborhood of Shula-Nur killing five Iraqi citizens and wounding seven at approximately 2:30 p.m. March 23.
Soldiers from 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne responded to the scene of the attack. The Iraqi Army and Police had already secured the scene and evacuated the wounded to Baghdad-area hospitals.
"This is another indiscriminate attack against innocent Iraqi men, women and children with no regard or value to human life," said Col. Allen Batschelet, MND-B chief of staff. "We will be very patient, gather evidence and find those responsible no matter how long it takes."
