Five Militants Arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar, March 10: Police and Indian para-military personnel during raids in Kashmir arrested five militants; three belong to the Pakistan based militant group, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and two others to Hizbul Mujaideen.
A police officer in Srinagar told NewsBlaze that police and para-military personnel during a raid at Nawpora, Sopore in North Kashmir arrested three militants owing allegiance to Pakistan based militant group, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen.
Identifying the arrested militants as Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, Mohammad Aslam Najar and Abdul Hamid Najar, the police officer claimed that three hand grenades and ten rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from the arrested militants.
The police officer further stated that police and para-military personnel during frisking of vehicles at Chermag road in South Kashmir arrested two Hizbul Mujahideen militants. Identifying the arrested militants as Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat and Mohammad Maqbool, the police officer claimed that 32 live rounds of Chinese Pistol and an IED weighing approximately five Kgs in a steel Tin along with remote control circuit were recovered from their possession.
"The arrested militants are being questioned," he added.
