By Alan Gray, NewsBlaze
Budding actors from 4 years old, through teens and up to adults now have a top class venue to learn new skills.
Stage Nine Theatre in Folsom announced it's Summer Theatre 2008 Workshops, all to take place in Historic Folsom.
Allen Schmeltz, artistic associate with Stage Nine Theatre, offers an Improv workshop for teens as well as an Auditioning Workshop for actors from 13 years old through adult to "Get That Role."
Connie Mockenhaupt and Chris Schlagel conduct a Musical Theatre Workshop for teens and adults. And last but not least, Dana Hendry of New Star Children's Theatre presents four two-week long summer camp workshops for children ages 4-6 and 6-12. Each of Dana's workshops have a different theme and involve singing, dancing, making costumes and props, and a whole lot of fun.
All workshops except the Auditioning Workshop include performances at the end of the workshop. Worksops are separated into various age groups and each class requires some necessary "homework" outside of class hours. The amount of homework varies, depending upon the class.
Mike Jimena, Managing Director said "We expect classes to fill fast, so call today to reserve a space, and please read the 'Fine Print' section carefully."
The classes include "Improv for Teens," "Get That Role - Auditioning Workshop for Teens & Adults," "Musical Theatre Workshop," "Under the Sea Workshop," "Pirates and Princesses. Ahoy and Oh My!," "Happy Ever After," and "Rock Around the Clock."
