Jammu, The Winter Capital of J&K
By Jagdev Singh
Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP addressed a press conference this morning on his tour to several Districts including all Districts in Kashmir Valley and Jammu Province in connection with the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of JKNPP with Panthers Party senior leaders and MLAs.
He narrated a tragic tale of the rural areas where people are being treated as goats and sheep.
1. On 100 days job guarantee scheme, he said that in hilly and backward areas of Bani, Basholi Billawar, Paddar, Desa-Gandoh (Chief Minister Constituency), Marwah-Dachhan, Banihal, Mahu-Maugal, Gool, Neel, Gulabgarh, Ramban, etc. Scheme has proved a disaster as 90% card holders have not been provided any work and 10% who got work have not been paid at all.
2. About ration cards, ration cards have not been renewed since 1997. New born are no where in ration cards. This is the situation in rural districts.
3. There are 10,000 persons of militancy victims who have not been provided relief under SRO-43. Instead, the government has provided pension/allowances to the militants and the terrorist and demanded immediate action.
4. SPOs and VDC members in the militancy prone areas have not been provided any remunerations or salaries for 15 months.
5. The Central and the State Developmental Schemes have been ignored by the administration. Roads with beacon have suffered heavily e.g. Bhadarwah-Ramban and Gool-Mahore road. Ignoring repairs of Bhaderwah-Chamaba and Bhaderwah-Bani road is a grave discrimination against Doda District. The commission has risen 20% as compared to Mufti era or BDOs are charging 40% commission.
6. Teaching staff in the newly created colleges and schools has gone down by 50%. 2000 teachers from Doda segment and Bani areas have been attached in Jammu.
7. Interviews were conducted for the posts of Class-IV. In Udhampur, Kathua, and Jammu districts, 15 months back no result.
Prof. Bhim Singh accused the Chief Minister for withdrawing the security cover of Panthers Party Legislators and framing false charges.
Prof. Bhim Singh demanded dissolution of the Assembly and hold election under Governor Rule with independent observers so that free and fair election could be held.
