Opening Artists' Reception for "Monterey Peninsula's Hidden Treasures"

Presenting the Opening Artists' Reception for "Monterey Peninsula's Hidden Treasures", Saturday, March 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hosted by the prestigious hair salon known as The Parlor located at 542 Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey.

You are invited to a grand public reception to view the exciting works of three uniquely talented local artists. "Monterey Peninsula's Hidden Treasures" is hosted by The Parlor located at 542 Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey. Refreshments, good company and warm conversation will easily flow throughout this reception to be held Saturday, March 22, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Some of the paintings and art on display will be for sale, and part of the proceeds will be donated to world peace causes.

Food and drink will be served and the public is welcome!

Artist, Caroline Gordon: Issues concerning Unity, Loving Kindness, the Evolution of Consciousness, Justice, Cooperation, and World Peace are springboards to the artist's dynamic and thought provoking abstract paintings and collage works. Her works are full of symbolic movement, light, heart and color- capturing her abiding love for depth psychology, spiritual growth, and curiosity for and belief in a currently manifesting shift in human awareness and destiny. seasidecaroline@yahoo.com

Artist, Wendy S. Cohen: a contemporary abstract painter whom explores the emotional landscapes of the soul with BOLD strokes and juicy color which is pleasant and bright. She also helps facilitate Artists' Way creativity groups. fierceart@aol.com

Artist, Paola Fiorelle Berthoin: Firmly rooted in the spirit of the natural world, Paola Fiorelle Berthoin creates art through plein air watershed painting, photography, land art, pet portraiture and miniatures-offering viewers fresh, poetic, and humorous ways of perceiving the world around us. fiorelle@redshift.com

All three artists have exhibited widely from Palo Alto to Salinas to Carmel to Sand City and more. The artists took part in the 2007 Christmas fundraiser for the Monterey Museum of Art. Each donated and exhibited a work of art in the Museum's Miniatures show. Through the efforts of many artists and the Museum staff, over $26,000 was raised for programs.
