Pakistan gave to Nation what Bhaarat did not give to Nation

With the division of Bhaarat, it was not only the division of people and land but it was a division of languages as well. Bhaarat adopted Hindi as its national language while Pakistan declared Urdu as its national language. In Pakistan, Urdu became the language of all Pakistani people. In Bhaarat we could not make Hindi the language of all Bhaaratiya people. Our regional languages like Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam, Orriya, Assemese, Bengali, Marathi, Guajarati, Kashmiri, and Punjabi all raised their own separate flags. In stead of spreading Hindi in whole Bhaarat, Hindi shrunk to only such provinces like Hariyaana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Utharakhand, Bihar, Jharkahnd, and Chandigarh. Thus Hindi became confined in only some states of Bhaarat.

On the other hand Pakistan gave its regional languages Punjabi, Baluchi, Pashtu, Sindhi a second class status, while Urdu got the status of main language. It is common practice in Pakistan that most of the people talk in their regional language. But as soon as Mike comes in front of them, they would start speaking in Urdu language instead of regional or English language. If Pakistani write some thing, they usually write in Urdu. After the creation of Bangladesh, Bengali people relinquished Urdu and started using Bengali language. Status of English is very low in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Compare the behavior of Pakistani people to Bhaaratiya leaders. After independence, even the most prime Ministers of Bhaarat have not spoken in Hindi most of the time. Present Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh also likes to speak mostly in English. It is doubtful if most of the Prime Ministers of Bhaarat even knew Hindi.

Due to voice of regional languages, Hindi could not become the link language of Bhaarat. English, the language of ex-colonial masters has become the link language of independent Bhaarat. English newspapers, magazines flourished to a very great extent in Bhaarat as English got the status of link language of Bhaarat. In Pakistan, Urdu left behind English. There are very few English papers in Pakistan. The sale of English papers in Pakistan is not any appreciable. Mostly newspapers and magazines are in Urdu in Pakistan. There is only one major publisher of books in Pakistan that is Oxford University press of Karachi. All rest are small publishers. It is for this reason if any author wrote in English, he / she seeks help from America for publication of the work or such author will take help of Bhaaratiya publishers. All English publications of Pakistan get more readerships in Bhaarat than in Pakistan.

Registration forms in Gujarati in America & Divide and Rule...
From: Nimesh Dixit

There was news recently and you all must have heard it. Gujarati Newspapers were going gaga over the "Gujaratio ki Shakti" etc. when the State Government of New Jersey declared that registration forms for the Presidential Election will be available in Gujarati.

Some Gujarati media and some Indian media - were on the forefront of praising the Gujarati Shakti on the soil of America. How Gujarati's are so powerful, they are the richest Indian Community in US. Very helping and very philanthropic. Some of my Gujarati Friends from here and back home were delighted by the news, as if they never spoke in English. As a Gujarati my heart was burning at the design to divide and rule the Indian Community in US. Surprisingly none of the Gujarati or other Hindu organization condemn or probably envisioned this Shri Ganesh (or the beginning) of the division. Probably they were too busy, fighting among each other, playing the politics of Groupism, one upmanship etc.

Seventeen years back, when I came here to study in US I had an experience and still remember the vision of a Jewish Professor of mine. There was a 15th August celebration in my school, and I sought his permission to take a day off from the on campus job that I used to do for him. Naturally he would inquire why I wanted a day off, and I said - I want to go and participate in the school function for the India's Independence Day. He sunk in a deep thought and said, "We Jews are worried only of one community in US and that is you Hindus of India." I was surprised and asked - what did we do that you are so worried? And his answer was the greatest joke of the day for me.

All my friends got a kick listening to my story. He told me that, "You Indians are going to take away the political power from us in next 50 years." And that was the great worry for my professor.

While our leaders here fight to grab the mike and arrange meetings and conference calls how to marginalize a Guajarati group and a north Indian or south Indian groups, this Jewish community was working and thinking about how to stop these Indians from taking the inevitable? Seventeen years later we are still involved into how to come up by bringing the other down, and have not been able to organize ourselves - some folks were thinking about how to stop us.

When my daughter was in elementary school, they had to learn few words from one of the five foreign languages, which included Japanese, Mandarin, Italian, French and German. Since being in NJ and in Edison area - naturally my daughter's class had more then 25% population with Indian origin. So I decided to write a letter to the principal, thats why not teach Hindi instead since 25% of the student in the school are Indians, it would be good not only for the Indian kids but the Americans too. Since they would be able to learn each other's languages. The principal wrote me a letter congratulating me about my novel idea, and proposed since of those 25% Indians, majority are Gujarati, so please find some material for us so that we can teach Gujarati instead. I sent a letter back with my 7 years old daughter that Gujarati would not be the "right" choice and it should be only "Hindi". I did not hear back from her again, and at that time due to my health and other reasons I dropped the ball. Hindi USA of Devendra Singhji was not even founded at that time or was in a very initial stage.

Lo and behold few years later I heard the same news that now the Presidential Registration Forms would be in Gujarati, for illiterate Guajarati's. And well - that was not an insult to Gujju Asmita (Guajarati pride) - but so far no one has even raised his/her voice against this apparently divisive agenda of the Government.

Wake up; O Indian - Bringing Narendra Modi live twice in New Jersey and New York, and showing the Might of Gujju Money - was rewarded by isolating Gujarati Community from the rest of Indian Communities here in US. And all so called leaders of the big organizations are either sleeping or busy fighting with each other. This is political - and those who call themselves politically connected are busy doing something completely different then what they were pioneered for. Forget not that both times that you brought Modi live on screen; He chose to speak in Hindi and not in Gujarati. Calling Modi a leader is one thing and Following him is quite another. And we have to make a choice for that - no one else would. Still there is time to act.

Those with connection in Indian Media, US media, and with the Politicians must RISE and RAISE a voice to stop this blatantly dividing formula. If they want to use any language from India then it should be Hindi and no other language.

McCauley had his own mission, and NJ state government has its own. The wise would understand and act and a small termite like me would write such emails because he can't sleep at 11:39 pm - feeling helpless and miserable!
