Charting a New Course for Life Science Data Acquisition: LabChart 6 and LabChart Reader for Windows and Mac
ADInstruments has released LabChart 6, a new generation of software for their PowerLab data acquisition systems. The release
is part of the company's 20th Anniversary celebrations, and is enhanced by
the simultaneous release of the LabChart Reader application. LabChart Reader enables viewing
and limited analysis of LabChart data files, and is available as a free
download from the ADInstruments website.
LabChart 6 is the latest version of the market-leading Chart software for
PowerLab systems. The new software can acquire up to 16 channels of raw
data, and display up to 32 channels of raw and calculated data, twice as
many as any previous version of Chart. Other features include variable
sampling speeds for each channel, automated recording with editable macros,
and support for specialized acquisition and analysis using optional
LabChart Extensions and Modules.
LabChart Reader is ADInstruments' first application program available as a
free download. The program allows users to open LabChart or Chart data
files, use select analysis features and print. It will enable life science
researchers, educators, students and publishers to share data and
collaborate across institutional and geographical boundaries.
LabChart 6 and LabChart Reader are available for Windows XP (SP2) and Vista
and Mac OS X (10.4 or later) operating systems. LabChart 6 and LabChart
Reader for Mac are ADInstruments' first Universal Binary software
applications, and offer native performance on both Power PC and Intel Mac
computers.
