'The Misrepresentation of Black Women': Author Exposes Tips to Help Single Black Women Avoid Being Negatively Stereotyped by Society
SHUBUTA, Miss., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Are you sick and tired of being
stereotyped as materialistic, worldly and lacking morals, just because you are
a single, black woman? Do you want to break out of the norm and instead leave
a positive impression on everyone you meet?
Detra R. McCarty's "The Misrepresentation of Black Women" (published by
AuthorHouse - http://www.authorhouse.com) serves to provide single black women
the tools they need to achieve success and a positive presence in both social
and professional arenas, through self-preservation and spirituality.
If you want to reinvent yourself, God can do it. He can take a nobody and
turn them into a somebody. He can take an ugly duckling and turn them
into a beautiful swan. He can make a sinner a saint. All things are
possible with God as your guide.
"The Misrepresentation of Black Women" instructs readers on how to bring
out their inner beauty, inner strength and inner savvy. It showcases how women
can change their outlook on life and how they perceive themselves to alter the
way others view them. It is in no way meant to promote superficiality, but
rather self-worth, self-esteem and self-assurance.
I have found that as I grew spiritually, I grew in every other aspect of
my personal and professional life. My vocabulary changed, my thought
process changed, how I viewed life and the people I came into contact
with changed; and most importantly, I viewed myself differently. I
expected more out of myself and the people I allowed to be in my circle.
God changed me and there is nothing about the new me that I don't love.
So, I have a new found freedom, joy, happiness and outlook on life.
