Cedar Point Promotes Zanyk to Head Americas Sales; Adds Two New Sales Vice Presidents for North America
DERRY, N.H., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedar Point Communications, a
worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for
service provider and enterprise telecommunications, today announced that it
has promoted Chris Zanyk to the position of Vice President, North American
Region and CALA, and added two new executives to its North American sales
force.
Zanyk, a 12-year veteran of telecommunications sales, previously had
served as managing director, Latin America for Cedar Point. In his new role,
he will be responsible for accelerating the Company's growth within the cable,
telco, university and enterprise markets inNorth America,Central America,
Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, Cedar Point announced that Ed Flannery, a founder of Opticom
and a veteran of two dozen years in the networking industry, and Bart Green,
who most recently was vice president of sales for OneVoice, have been named to
the positions of vice president, sales, with responsibilities for the
Northeast and Western regions, respectively. Flannery and Green will focus on
the emerging market for Cedar Point's SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching
System among Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and Incumbent Local
Exchange Carriers (ILECs).

significant expansion of Cedar Point's footprint in new markets in the Western

Since joining Cedar Point, Zanyk has been responsible for establishing the
Company as a leading vendor of voice switching solutions in the CALA region,
with a current base of 14 customers in 12 countries. Previously, he had spent
10 years with Nortel in Latin America, and had responsibility for overseeing
Nortel's operations inChile andBolivia from 2002-06. Zanyk holds a B.A., an
MBA and an MS in International Business from the University ofMiami.
Prior to joining Cedar Point, Flannery served as vice president, business
development for PingTel, Corp., a Woburn, MA provider of SIP-based enterprise
communications platforms. Previously, he spent seven years with Opticom, a
business services management software company that he helped to found based in
Andover, MA. Flannery also has served in similar capacities with four other
New England firms: Cabletron; Fibronics International; Timeplex and WolfData.
He holds a B.S. from St. Anselm College.
Green spent the last three years with OneVoice, during which time he
managed and grew U.S. sales for the ShoreTel IP PBX. He served as director of
satellite sales for Phonex Broadband from 2002-05, and was the company's
leading sales executive for three consecutive years. Green began his career
with 3 Com/U.S. Robotics as a wireless account executive, and rose to
territory sales manager before leaving the company in 2001. He is a graduate
of Weber State University, with a degree in Political Science.
