IA Soldiers find weapons cache
Multi-National Division - Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD - Iraqi Army Soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 6th IA Division discovered a cache of improvised explosive device materials Feb. 29.
The IA Soldiers found 300 pounds of homemade explosives, 20 liters of hydrochloric acid, and four anti-tank mines at approximately 4 p.m. in a house west of Baghdad.
A Multi-National Division - Baghdad explosive ordnance disposal team secured the items.
The IA evacuated residents to a safe location before the EOD team conducted a controlled detonation of the confiscated items.
There was no damage to any homes or structures in the area.
