Antique Show At Dixon May Fair Offers Collectors
A Unique Weekend Antiquing Adventure
Twin Bridges' popular Seventh Annual Antiques Show and Sale at the Dixon May Fair Grounds takes place Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 9`th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Exhibitors from four states will offer collectors an outstanding selection of: glass, china, porcelains and pottery; American and European furniture and furnishings; primitives and American country; sewing, buttons, linens, lace, quilts, and vintage clothing; sterling and silverplate flatware and hollowware; prints, paintings, and paper collectibles; and a fine selection of vintage jewelry and accessories. Part of the proceeds from this event benefits charities supported by Soroptimist International of Dixon.

Collectors are invited to bring their favorite family heirlooms or latest garage sale finds between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 12 noon and 4:00 p.m. Sunday during Twin Bridges' Appraisers Panel. Appraisers will be: Gary Cox (Saturday), well known locally for his work with the Crocker Museum, KVIE's Central Valley Chronicles, and local historical societies; Larry Hull (Saturday and Sunday), specializing in small silver items as well as pre-Civil war and American pattern glass; Area; W. Brooke Sivo (Sunday), Vice President, Director of American Furniture and Decorative Arts at Bonhams and Butterfields in San Francisco; Stephen Turner (Sunday), well known for his work with Home and Garden Television Show (H.G.T.V) "Appraise It," "What's It Worth" column in The San Francisco Chronicle weekend edition, and an appraiser for the Antiques Roadshow in San Francisco who travels worldwide conducting auctions and providing appraisal services; and Steve Yvaska (Saturday), antiques columnist with the San Jose Mercury News and a popular guest lecturer, appraiser and author in the Greater San Francisco Bay.

Collectors interested in repair or restoration of sentimental antique glassware or family china may take advantage of services provided by Kenny and Judy Lang of Miracle Glass Repair of Grass Valley. Miracle Glass will be present during all Show hours providing professional repair of damaged glassware and china at reasonable prices. The Langs have been restoring glassware, china and pottery for more than twenty years for collectors and dealers throughout California and the Pacific Northwest. They can remove chips, fit stoppers, provide internal polishing, put together broken pieces, and much more. When damage to stemware is too severe for restoration, Miracle Glass Repair can create novelties, such as bells, ring holders and glassicles.

Daily food and beverage service will be provided by volunteers from Soroptimist International of Dixon. The Friends of the Dixon Library will once again hold a used book sale. Girl Scout Juniors Troop 1220, Dixon will sell cookies and volunteer as event helpers throughout the two-day event. Admission to the Dixon May Fair show is $4.00 with free return and free parking both days. A $1.00 discount will be given per person with this article.
