Nation's Capital Plays Host to 4,000 'Real-Life CSIs' Leading Forensic Scientists to Detail Findings at 60th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), a professional organization dedicated to the application of science to the law, kicked off its 60th annual meeting today inWashington, DC. Nearly 4,000 attendees have come to Washington to present findings and participate in discussions on some of today's most significant forensic science issues.
This year's meeting will include presentations and discussions of a wide range of topics including child safety in automobiles, the role of forensic science in homeland security and on the battlefield, death investigation, human identification and the search and recovery efforts related to the September 11th attacks, and an inside look at the world of real-life CSIs.

More than 700 scientific papers, seminars, workshops and sessions will be conducted over the course of the week-long meeting at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The meeting officially opens today with sessions beginning each day at 7am through Friday.
