"John Wallace to Stay in the Race for the GOP Nomination"

The 10 Republican Committees in New York's 20th Congressional District recently came out in support of Sandy Treadwell as their candidate for the Republican nomination for the 2008 election and John Wallace congratulated Sandy for getting their support. At this point, Wallace has chosen to stay in the race because he believes that as many Republican and Conservative voters as possible should be making the decision about who they want to represent them in the 20th congressional district, not a group of people who represent less than 1% of the registered party voters.

As a newcomer to the political process, Wallace found the process of meeting with the Republican and Conservative Committee members in the 10 county area to be both interesting and informative. "I have met many good people at these committee meetings over the past few months who, like myself, are very concerned about the future direction of the country: said Wallace. Unfortunately, he found that the party leadership of both parties seemed to be more concerned with how much money he had in his campaign war chest than what his positions were on the issues.

"Although I understand the concerns of the party leaders about the money, I strongly believe that an election should and can be won on the issues, without raising millions of dollars from big donors outside the district and from special interest groups with agendas that are not in the best interests of the American people, nor in the best interests of the people within the district." said Wallace.

Wallace believes that the American people are well aware of the corrupting influence that large amounts of special interest money has on congress, particularly with the continuing expansion of big government programs, our inability to secure our border and the introduction of legislation that negatively affects our country's sovereignty. He believes that the receipt of special interest money by members of congress is nothing short of bribery. For this reason, Wallace has limited his campaign fundraising to a maximum of $76.00 from individuals and he does not accept special interest money of any kind from any organization.

As a current businessman and former State Trooper, Wallace believes he has the tenacity and real world experience to run an effective campaign, without raising millions of dollars. I promise the voters of the 20th congressional district that I will make myself available to speak out on the important issues of the day to any group that will listen to me. It is very important to me that a true conservative republican becomes our candidate in this district and I look forward to an open discussion of the issues to determine just who that person might be.

"America is currently facing the greatest challenges to it's sovereignty, freedoms and maybe to its very existence and the election of 2008 will be very important in determining how we will deal with these challenges. I believe that my positions on the issues meet these challenges. That's why I'm staying in the race. " said Wallace.
