Auto Club: Gas Prices Tick Up Slightly

Gas price averages continued to hover just
above $3 a gallon over the past week in most areas of Southern California,
according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas
Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long
Beach area is $3.087, which is 0.7 cents higher than last week, 21 cents
less than last month, and 45 cents above last year. In San Diego, the price
is $3.118, which is 2 cents more than last week's price, 19 cents below
last month, and 46 cents higher than last year. On the Central Coast, the
average price is $3.256, up 1.1 cents from last week, 16 cents under last
month, and 47 cents more than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average
price is $3.081, 1.7 cents above last week, down 21 cents from last month,
and 44 cents higher than last year.
"For the second week in a row, we're seeing prices hold steady for the most
part at many gas stations," said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. "In
the last two weeks, average prices have gone up by a penny or less in the
greater Los Angeles area, and by less than three cents in San Diego."
