Open Archive Systems Announces Open Archive Document Services for eCopy(TM)

Barcode Recognition and Image Enhancement Modules Expand eCopy ShareScan(R) Document Imaging and Distribution Capabilities

Open Archive Systems today announced the release of Open Archive Document Services for eCopy ShareScan. The software, which contains Barcode Recognition and Image Enhancement Modules, was developed using eCopy's new Document Services API.

"eCopy encourages independent software vendors, system integrators, resellers and corporate developers to add capabilities with a well-designed, comprehensive software developer kit (SDK)," said Chip Whitman, eCopy director of Software Alliances. "Our latest release of the eCopy SDK enables companies like Open Archive Systems to extend the functionality of ShareScan so it can address a wider range of customer business problems."

Open Archive Systems, an eCopy Alliance Partner (eCAP) since early 2006, initially developed its Batch REnew Connector for eCopy ShareScan. Open Archive enhanced this technology using eCopy Document Services to create a service-level solution. As a result, Open Archive barcode recognition and image enhancement technology becomes eCopy ShareScan functionality available for use with eCopy Connectors.

    collaboration, cost recovery software applications and eCopy Desktop,
    enabling users to work securely and seamlessly with familiar applications
