Srinagar, Feb 12: Body of a porter, who was working for the Indian army and was missing after being hit by an avalanche in North Kashmir, was recovered by the army today.
Two army porters were lost under a snow avalanche at Sadhna Top in North Kashmir on February 6. "Since then they were missing and Indian army and police had launched an operation to recover their bodies. But due to continuous snowfall, the operation was hampered. After the improvement in the weather conditions, the operation to recover their body was launched and this morning, the body of one of the porters identified as Mumtaz Ahmad was recovered," said a police spokesman in Srinagar.
