Sheraton Washington North Opens Doors with Seven Special Packages


WASHINGTON, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheraton's newest District of Columbia- area hotel, the 205-room Sheraton Washington North, marked its opening today with an array of special packages geared to lovers, business travelers, meeting planners, families and baseball fans. Located at 4095 Powder Mill Rd. at exit 29B on Interstate 95, the hotel is just 15 minutes by Metro or car from center city Washington. The property is operated by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

"The hotel has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation and is in mint condition," said Michael George, Crescent's president and CEO. "We are introducing our property via seven magnificent hotel packages that will showcase both the city of Washington and our hotel."

    The Sheraton Washington North Packages include:

    -- D.C. Is For Lovers -- "Virginia doesn't have a lock on affairs of the
       heart," said Devin Heath, general manager.  "We are a great weekend
       getaway for lovers who want to build on their relationship.  Each
       weekend throughout the month of February, we offer a special package
       that includes a Bed, Body and Bath special amenity package, brunch for
       two in bed and, of course, late check out."
    -- Cherry Blossom Special -- Available March 29 to April 13, guests will
       receive free shuttle transportation to the Metro and free Metro passes
       to Federal Triangle, the closest exit to the Tidal Basin, where the
       blooms will be on glorious display.  Guests also will receive a
       commemorative Cherry Blossom coffee table book.
    -- Snow Bird Special -- Senior citizens traveling the Northeast corridor
       will enjoy the Snow Bird Special.  Members of AARP, CAA, CARP and AAA
       will receive a special rate, with an added value of complimentary,
       full-buffet breakfast for two.
    -- Take Me Out to the Ballgame -- Baseball fans will find the Washington
       Nationals Package a home run.  Guests receive two tickets to a
       Washington Nationals game, Metro passes and a free shuttle to the
       Metro.
    -- Family Four-Pack -- Designed for vacation families visiting the
       District between June 15 and September 15, this kid-friendly, two-night
       minimum-stay package starts with free pizza and soda the night of
       arrival, four movie tickets to nearby Lowes Cinemas, breakfast buffet
       for four, free shuttle transportation and four passes on the Metro.
    -- Meeting Planners Delight -- Meeting planners who book by March 31 and
       hold their event by December 31, 2008 will receive triple meeting
       planner points through Starwood's Preferred Planner Program.
    -- Duck into Washington -- Guests who want to get a "bird's-eye" view of
       Washington, D.C., will want to indulge in this package.  It offers two
       Metro passes and a unique tour of the city by land and water.  Travel
       in original World War II amphibious vehicles on a 90-minute tour of the
       nation's capital before splashing down into the Potomac River.

The Sheraton Washington North's amenities include the brand's new lobby concept called Link@Sheraton, which features comfortable seating, refreshments, large screen televisions, and multiple Internet-enabled workstations and free Wi-Fi Internet access. The hotel also offers a state- of-the-art fitness center, outdoor swimming pool and a club-level floor with a concierge lounge and upgraded in-room amenities. The Powder Mill Cafe offers American cuisine in a warm casual setting.

Meeting and Social Space

The Sheraton Washington North features 5,000 square feet of meeting space, highlighted by the Chesapeake Ballroom, a 3,600-square-foot ballroom capable of seating up to 400 people. Six break-out rooms can comfortably handle functions ranging from 20 to 90 people.

Additionally, the Sheraton boasts a new state-of-the-art Executive Boardroom equipped with a 52" LCD monitor for presentations, which can be accessed easily through outlet ports built into the executive board table.
